Who we are

Upsilon Kappa Delta, A Multicultural Sorority was established by thirteen lovely ladies on December 10,1993 at California State University, Chico as a multicultural based organization focused on academics, sisterhood, and community service.

Upsilon Kappa Delta is a wildly diverse and rapidly growing collection of women who are united by an unbreakable and all-encompassing bond of Sisterhood. through the pursuit of higher education, limitless love, and service to our local and global communities, we inspire each of our Sisters to become the ideal multicultural woman. A woman who is celebrated in her own  right for the unique abilities, talents and perspectives she has to offer. When we wear our letters, ΥΚΔ reminds us that through collaboration, education, and dedication we can transform our communities, and in doing so, transform ourselves.

Through our numerous professional developments, community service events, sisterhood retreats, academic workshops, and cultural events, UKD’s help one another to succeed while guiding the next generation to success via mentoring.

Purpose

The Purpose of Upsilon Kappa Delta is intellectual advancement of its members to their highest scholarly potential, to sustain a strong bond of sisterhood throughout a lifetime, to be actively involved in the communities in which the organization exists. Through copious amounts of service events, sisterhood retreats, academic workshops, and cultural events, UKDs learn more in in that act ­enrich themselves, enrich each other, and enrich their surrounding Universities and communities. They morph into committed leaders, are able to network with our alumnae, and continue to serve as civic leaders past their graduation. UKD is the ideal multicultural sorority full of diverse members and eager women ready to make a difference in our communities.

Mission Statement

Upsilon Kappa Delta is a multicultural-founded sorority with the mission to focus on the intellectual advancement of its members to their highest scholarly potential, to sustain a strong bond of sisterhood throughout a lifetime, to be actively involved in the communities in which the organization exists, to support Children’s Wellness in our communities, to provide an example of the ideal multicultural sorority and enrich the multicultural awareness of its members and community, and lastly to exercise the widest influence for good.

National Philanthropy

There are many community service contributions that our sisters make around the country to align with the official national philanthropy cause of Upsilon Kappa Delta M, “Supporting Children’s wellness in our communities”

Anti-Hazing Position Statement

Upsilon Kappa Delta Multicultural Sorority, Inc. does not encourage, condone or tolerate hazing in any form; we have a zero tolerance policy with regards to hazing.  Hazing is illegal and is contrary to the fundamental values and principles of our sisterhood.
