Fun Facts

Many people ask, “If Multiculturalism is so important to you, then why is it not one of your Pillars?” The answer is simple. The Founding Mothers chose not to because Multiculturalism should not be confined to a single facet life. Since its establishment, ΥΚΔ
has strove to be an example of the ideal multicultural sorority, meaning we emphasize diversity (racially, ethnically, religiously and sexually) and promote acceptance in ALL aspects of our organization, campus and local community. We feel our pillars are complementary principles that will lead our members to a full and rewarding life, but Multiculturalism is the ever-present theme that must connect them all together.

“Multiculturalism is an appreciation of the different cultures in our sorority and around us; an acknowledgement of the different values and equality of diverse groups.”
- ΥΚΔ Constitution

ΥΚΔ is a Sisterhood of differences and a Sisterhood of love, so it’s only natural that we learn to love our differences.
